I think slow cooker meals should be done in the slow cooker! So forget all the steps! Toss all ingredients into the slow cooker. Requite it a stir and then melt it on low for the suggested fourth dimension. It'due south and then proficient and you don't take to practise all the private steps. Add the cornstarch at the end and stir. Serve over rice. Better than take-out!!

This was an easy, delicious and healthy dinner. As some others did, I used low sodium soy sauce and that seemed about right for saltiness. I wanted to stay true to the original recipe but I did reduce the carbohydrate to 1/four loving cup (watching sugar carbs) and also added one/4 teaspoon of ruby pepper flakes to give it a piddling zing. Rather than steam the broccoli, I just added it right after calculation the cornstarch slurry and it was perfect later 30 minutes! I'll definitely make this again - next time I may add sliced onion near the beginning of the cooking and scarlet pepper strips with the broccoli.

My whole family unit enjoyed this, even the one who says he doesn't like Chinese nutrient. He ate the almost of all of united states of america! I used Better than Boullion, lite soy sauce, garlic powder and a flank steak, because that's what I had on hand and it still turned out delicious and nosotros didn't call up too salty. I also threw in a sliced sweet onion like another reviewer suggested. Great, piece of cake recipe with very minimal prep that I will be making again. The sauce is thinner and less sticky than restaraunt style broccoli beef, but no complaints here anyhow.
08/04/2014
I followed the ingredients and directions EXACTLY except I used lower sodium soy sauce because that's all I ever use. This was withal very salty. I think I would leave out the bouillion next fourth dimension or use depression sodium beefiness goop instead. Other than that, there are no adjustments needed. I will make this once more.
x/07/2015
This was very good. My family liked it. The only change I made is to substitute oyster sauce for half of the soy sauce. I also used ii sixteen ounce numberless of frozen broccoli florets instead of fresh broccoli. I found that after cooking 6 hours on LOW the thinly sliced beef I used had fallen autonomously by and large. But that was ok. If you want your beef to hold together more in slices it's probably best to only cook for 4-5 hours or use thick chunks of beef instead of slicing it thin like you would for a regular stir fry. The sauce never thickened for me, but I didn't bother cooking information technology down in a sauce pan. There was plenty of juciness for the quinoa I served this with to soak up!! I will make this again. Leftovers are bully!
01/18/2016
Cooked on high 4 hours and and so added cornstarch mixture and small broccoli florets for some other 30 minutes. Beefiness stew meat was excellent! Next fourth dimension I will look until fifteen before finish to add the small broccoli florets though as they didn't have much crunch left.
04/07/2015
Such an easy prep-ahead or freezer meal. Throw all ingredients except the h2o, corn starch, broccoli, and rice into a freezer bag and freeze until you need an easy meal. When ready to utilise put in slow cooker with the water and follow your recipe from there! A new favorite at our business firm! This can easily be turned into a gluten-free repast by using gluten-free soy sauce!
08/24/2014
I was looking for an easy nonetheless healthful dinner--this was it! The whole family unit enjoyed it. I did use beef stew meat--which made information technology even easier.
01/08/2015
Fantastic! I made 1.five times the sauce the 2nd time around considering the first time I fabricated it, it cooked down and wasn't quite as sloppy as I similar. I also used low-cal soy sauce - had it, didn't know why, never thought I'd utilize it, so this was a expert alibi. The second time around, my husband bought stir-fry meat, then information technology was in very thin strips. This cut out about an hour from the high cooking fourth dimension, which was nice considering I always think to use the slow cooker at like 3 p.thousand. Groovy recipe - can't wait to brand information technology for company! Thanks!
01/04/2016
The sense of taste was very expert but a little on the salty side as other reviewers mentioned. I as well made a couple modifications. Like many others, I used 1/iv cup depression sodium soy sauce and then 1/4 cup oyster sauce to give it a chip more flavor and help with the saltiness. I also added some minced ginger root and instead of steaming the broccoli, I just tossed it into the crock pot like twenty-30 minutes to the finish. It seems to defeat the purpose of the crock pot a piddling information technology if yous have to use additional pots/pans, and this manner worked just fine. Solid recipe. Will definitely be making information technology over again.
01/29/2015
I used very thin sliced beef. I cooked it on high for one hr., then cooked it on low for another 3 hrs. I used organic beef broth and low sodium soy sauce. I used 3 cloves of garlic, but I think it could have used iv. The sauce didn't thicken in the crock pot, so next time I will use the suggestion of thickening the sauce on the stove. *Update* Fabricated this once more and used a tin of beef gravy and a couple tablespoons of water instead of the bullion and water. Used very sparse sliced beef and cooked information technology on high for iii hrs, adding the cornstarch and water at two hrs and xxx min. The consistency was thick plenty without having to thicken the sauce on the stove.
03/02/2016
As one member commented I also but put everything in the tiresome cooker except veggies without any prep work which saved virtually a half hour and muddy dishes ( I did add peapods, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots along with the broccoli later iv hrs. ( we like our veggies crunchy) and cooked on low for 4 hrs. stirring every couple hours and then added the veggies and cooked another iii hrs. and it came out awesome. However I will make about fifty% more than sauce next fourth dimension.
02/25/2016
Fabricated it with half the soy sauce called for (using reduced sodium soy sauce) and the season was tasty just besides weak. Try making the recipe with the full amount of soy sauce to increase flavor. Also, I but steamed the broccoli in the microwave--much easier, and omitted the sesame oil. Cooked the meat (only i pound) in the dull cooker on high for about 2-three hours.
09/03/2014
I didn't apply i/2cup soy sauce, bc people commented on it being salty. I used 1/4cup and it was delicious!!
02/11/2015
I used beef broth, and top round steak. I left out the sesame oil. I as well fabricated my own fried rice. A very tasty dish!
08/sixteen/2016
Ok so I followed this exactly and my hubby and I did not like this at all. I mean like really didn't like it. Likewise salty, and just a bad overall sense of taste. Cornstarch did non thicken mine at all, even later on existence on high for 30 minutes. Some of you were obviously able to get a tasty result, merely I was not.
05/07/2015
Love this recipe, goose egg to change just I exercise add reddish peppers and green peppers for more than flavor.
08/12/2014
Super easy and succulent! I wish the sauce was thicker though
10/26/2016
Used one/4 loving cup soy sauce and one/four cup brownish sugar. It turned out beautifully! I put the uncooked broccoli directly in the slow cooker for the final 10 minutes My hubby, who is a fussy eater, raved about information technology. In fact, he went on and on nearly it and had iii servings! I will definitely make information technology again.
02/08/2015
This was but like if we ordered takeout and super easy!
02/26/2016
I made information technology exactly like instructed and it wasn't too salty like some said. I did use low sodium soy sauce though. It was very good and my kids enjoyed it to. I didn't know information technology was a Chinese dish never had Chinese food. :-)
08/16/2015
I made it and I can't melt merely my husband loved it. Information technology came out delicious!!! Volition make again.
07/11/2017
I received a lot of compliments with this recipe. I added sliced onions and mushrooms to it. I decided to add the broccoli well-nigh one-half fashion through cooking fourth dimension, and the onions and mushrooms about an hr after that. Side by side time I may do the broccoli every bit the original recipe states, because they lost their green color- soaking up the brown sauce likewise long, or existence cooked also long.
05/27/2016
family unit of five loved information technology. ages 11-55
eleven/23/2014
My whole family loved this! I added more broccoli, water chestnuts & ginger.
10/fifteen/2015
WONDERFUL! I HAD TO THICKEN THE SAUCE A BIT AND I Cut BACK ON THE SOY, BUT THIS IS A KEEPER!!!!
02/27/2017
Admittedly delicious! We sautéed and added baby Bella mushrooms at the finish. The next time I make this, I'll be certain to take some fresh bread to become with information technology. I cooked nigh 8 hours and the meat melted.
03/04/2019
This is one of my favorites. I add h2o chestnuts and bamboo shoots only for the crunch.
08/18/2017
This recipe does not need whatever changes. It was an absolute hit with my family unit! Tonight I am making it again, but didn't have bouillon, so I am using a can of beef eat in place of information technology and am anxious to see if it turns out as well. Such an easy dish to brand with outstanding flavor, y'all can't go wrong giving this a effort
10/24/2017
My finicky fam loved it equally is. Just one notation: video shows about a cup of cooking liquid to the ii Tablespoons of cornstarch. Written directions say differently. Do it similar the video and it volition thicken up perfectly!
09/03/2016
This was and so easy to brand and it came out amazing. I can't wait to arrive again.
x/25/2016
Likewise salty and I didn't even use the beef bouillon because that seemed inconceivable.
03/29/2018
The sauce is perfect! I did apply a reduced sodium soy sauce. Got home late. Tossed in some leftover sautéed peppers & onions. Cooked some rice. Got changed, had a glass of vino. Scooped rice into bowls, ladled beef mixture from crock pot over pinnacle & enjoyed! Did not have /add together thickening agent- no need. Delicious! Go far again good!!! Thank you.
09/24/2017
I used chopped broccoli instead and used depression sodium soy sauce. Had to double the recipe due to feeding eight. Smelled just like have out but cost me way less. #happy mom.
07/xix/2014
Delicious! Hubby said this ones a keeper!
eleven/11/2015
first time my married man ate every slice of brocolli on his plate. Loved this!
09/xxx/2014
There was not much flavour to this recipe.
08/18/2018
Edible, not restaurant quality. I will not make again
01/08/2018
Just delicious, the whole family loved it.
08/25/2014
This was really good but salty and the sauce was not as thick every bit I would have liked. I used far costless low sodium beef broth and low sodium soy sauce. Will definitely make information technology over again.
07/06/2016
I used a sirloin tip roast and pulled it apart. Also added chilli flakes to information technology. My husband loved it served on rice.
06/06/2016
Neither my husband nor I cared for this ..we didn't like the sugary taste.
07/23/2018
This dish had really good flavor although a bit on the salty side. I'll use low sodium soy sauce next fourth dimension. Definitely a keeper.
09/25/2018
Wasn't too crazy about this
04/27/2018
yum
03/twenty/2020
Fantastic! Made it most as-is and wouldn't change anything next time. Used 1.5 lbs of boneless beef brusk ribs (3 pieces) and 3 large heads of broccoli. Salt&peppered the beefiness, sliced it and so seared the sides, and and then cooked the beef w/ sauce on slow cooker mode of the instant pot ("normal" temp) for 8 hrs and they came out so incredibly tender. Steamed the rice and broccoli separately when it was close to dinnertime. Served with crushed peanuts.
12/17/2017
What a corking recipe!
07/04/2016
This is a nice burn-and-forget recipe when you desire something Asian. Ingredients are like shooting fish in a barrel to discover. You may need to add a footling extra corn starch to get the juices to thicken. The blazon of soy yous use will change the overall flavor. Improve soy ways amend flavour retention.
12/23/2018
I doubled the recipe and fed ix people!
eleven/08/2017
style too salty flavor for me
02/09/2020
I doubled the recipe and it was fantastic. My wife couldn't get enough it seemed
03/xxx/2017
Other than adding some red pepper, we followed the recipe exactly. Very, very good. Will definately brand this again.
08/28/2017
Easy? Yeah. Smells astonishing? Yes. Flavor on signal? Not quite. While everything was pretty good, information technology tasted just a piddling bit off, similar it was missing something just I'm not sure what. I did employ low sodium soy sauce and sodium free beef bullion and so it wasn't too salty. Overall, decent quick prep meal.
04/24/2016
This was very practiced but be careful if cooking in a slow cooker, my meat merely about disappeared because it was so tender. This was a very good flavored dish! Will brand again.
09/23/2014
Followed the recipe. I think information technology was good merely salty. I volition use less of the soy sauce side by side time around. Will definitely be making this once again.
02/20/2019
Followed ingredients, but did what others suggested and threw the broccoli in when cornstarch was added. Very expert! Side by side time I would add onion and definitely increase the sauce. I used low sodium soy sauce and did not think it was too salty as other reviewers say. Topped with some sriracha sauce to add a little kick. Note: non sure if sirloin is a necessary expenditure. I think next fourth dimension I would employ stew meat or round.
01/18/2017
Awesome tasting dish. Love how unproblematic it is to brand this meal. Thank you!!
02/22/2017
Followed the recipe with a few additions. Some fresh Onion slices, Fresh mushrooms, and scarlet pepper flakes. Cut the soy sauce in half and used oyster sauce as others suggested. Used corn starch and made a roux when the corstarch failed. Neither was successful in thickening my sauce. Used frozen Broccoli florets. Still amazing and will make once more!
05/27/2017
Made it just like recipe. Yummy!
11/12/2019
Quick and like shooting fish in a barrel to make. I used minced garlic instead of garlic cloves.
01/25/2016
We liked this recipe, thanks. I followed the directions exactly. Was a flake too sweet for our taste. If I make it again in the future, I'd reduce the sweetener, or mayhap adjust the soy sauce. Served it with green salads & warmed up 12 grain dinner rolls. Information technology was quick to assemble in the crock pot which I appreciated.
05/18/2019
I substituted garlic flavored olive oil for the sesame oil. I made the slow cooker beef as written. I didn't thicken the sauce. I ladled it out and used it for stir fry sauce. I used 1 handbag of frozen stir fry vegetables, thawed. When these were done I added a half parcel of cooked whole wheat angel hair pasta. Then I dumped the beef with whatever remaining sauce into the wok and combined all until well mixed and coated with sauce. I served this as lo mein without rice.
06/06/2016
Made it exactly equally specified with the exception of using low sodium soy sauce. We loved the taste and texture. I will kickoff to play with information technology now - I want to add together onions, I think ,and ginger. I did not mess with the carbohydrate - the salty/sweet contrast is primal in this one.
05/03/2017
I give this 5 stars because it was easy to brand and super tasty.
02/22/2018
A very tasty, easy recipe. I followed the recipe as is but I found it more salty than I liked. The balance of the family, notwithstanding, gobbled it up - even the non big on broccoli fans! The recipe was a really nice addition to a chinese-themed-meal for a family unit dinner. I found it was very user-friendly to have this main dish cooking in the slow cooker when prepping/cooking the residuum of the dinner on the stove.
01/24/2017
really tasty nosotros used canton beef Spare ribs for the meat, talk most fall apart in your oral fissure. that was the but change awesome
05/07/2018
Very good recipe. I did utilise sliced stir fry beef and frozen broccoli just for convenience. Would make again.
04/05/2016
Turned out great. As others did, I added 1\4 teaspoon of ruby pepper flakes, used one/4 chocolate-brown carbohydrate and used one/iv soya sauce and 1/4 oyster sauce. I as well simply put the broccoli direct in the slow cooker approx in last 30mins of cooking
01/10/2018
This was a striking for the whole family! I don't like steamed broccoli, then I went alee and roasted it like my family unit likes it but other than that, no changes fabricated. Highly recommend it
11/xi/2015
Family loved this. I followed the proffer of some other reviewer and added some crushed red pepper flakes. Next, I am going to try this with chicken broth and craven instead of the beefiness.
03/15/2016
I did something I've never done and I added my instant rice to the crock pot to melt with the meat. I just added extra water. Worked cracking! I used instant chocolate-brown rice. I used stew meat too. We liked this, information technology was really easy with my brusque cuts......The second time I made the mistake of using long grain brown rice and I had to add together a lot of h2o and keep information technology on high for 3 hours to get the rice cooked. Once cooked, I turned it downwardly to depression and stirred in thawed broccoli.
08/21/2015
I fabricated this as is. It was ok at best. It had an amazing smokey smell, though-- my daughter and I were very excited to try it. Being Asian, I prefer my Asian-inspired foods to taste atleast a niggling bit familiar. My daughter said it tasted like teriyaki beefiness jerky, and she was spot on. I gave information technology three stars because my daughter at to the lowest degree ate it.
02/26/2018
I will definitely be making this dish once more. My family enjoyed it and they are actually picky eaters.
03/xiv/2016
So like shooting fish in a barrel and succulent, I'll teach my 13-year-one-time how to make this! A wee chip salty, may try low-sodium soy sauce next time. Likewise idea some green onions added to it and peanuts sprinkled on top might be practiced!
09/17/2017
I made it for dinner last evening. Didn't have a large enough slice of meat, and then I took advice of other reviewers & added onions, greenish peppers & more than garlic, oh & a piddling more brown carbohydrate after tasting sauce. I will play with the sauce a wee flake more next time I prepare information technology, could be improved for our taste. Served over rice with Asian Slaw. Thank you for the post!
08/xvi/2015
Followed the exact recipe except for the rice (I used white). Cooked on loftier for four hours and the meat was very tender! I will make this again. There was barely whatsoever prep and it was so goooood!!
07/15/2020
First-class!! I used beef goop instead of water and boullion merely otherwise followed the recipe exactly.
05/19/2021
Beloved this recipe! Easy and taste like a restaurant made it. Mom and Dad idea it was take out!
x/04/2021
well i must say ours turned out fantastic! I ended up making a few changes i. used Goya powdered bullion Beef! ane package. 2. used low sodium soy sauce 1/2 cup 3, frozen broccoli florettes put them in after 2 hours four. used 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 table spoons of flour to make it thicker But in order to make it thicker i had to pull the broth and do broth on stove its faster for thickening It came out perfect very squeamish taste not salty! Hubby is going to love information technology Cheers again!!!
12/12/2020
Nosotros actually enjoyed information technology, and the meat melted in your mouth. Information technology tasted better than going to a restaurant. I used depression sodium soy sauce, I used angus sirloin beef, and I added the broccoli into the crockpot about 30-40minutes before information technology would be prepare instead of steaming it. It came out perfectly.
11/04/2020
This was so delish. Definitely don't put the veggies in at the starting time, like i did :( I used frozen trio peppers and frozen broccoli and they basically desentigted
03/12/2018
I panicked a niggling when I opened the wearisome cooker because it didn't wait like plenty to feed 3 people; however, afterward adding the broccoli, it was plenty. The family loved this...delicious!
01/13/2020
I actually wanted to beloved this simply it simply turned out like a roast. The meat became shredded when you stirred it and I had to add some actress seasonings because it was kind of bland. The family unit liked information technology ok, no one complained. I do know that Chinese food is about quick and hot cooking so slow and low is probably not the best manner to fix.
04/x/2016
I used a bigger beefiness roast and added more than soy sauce 1 loving cup. It was smashing tasting and very easy to make.
x/13/2017
My family unit and I liked this recipe. I added onions to it and used fresh broccoli. Will make again.
02/21/2018
I used a piece if London Broil, it is what I had, I over cooked slightly but followed the recipe and information technology was delicious! I volition make again.
01/04/2017
It was delicious as-is! Next time I make it I plan to add some ginger for more than of a zing. Otherwise information technology was great.
11/x/2016
I followed the directions, but my meat was so over cooked that it totally fell apart. It reminded me of broccoli with beef gravy. And I thought the flavor a tad banal. Probably won't make it once more.
09/xi/2018
Delicious and piece of cake to make! Yummy!
08/24/2018
Even with low sodium soy sauce, it is somewhat salty. Also, my beef "shredded" and didn't plow stay in the "planks" I'd cut it in to. Tastes okay.
07/31/2018
This came out tasting very good, Followed the recipe except I used a chuck roast and 2 packages of microwaveable broccoli florets. Easier and less plush.
09/eleven/2017
Very tart. Style also much soy sauce. Definitely missing something. I won't brand again:
08/06/2018
Didn't brand any changes and it was delicious!! Didn't find it salty like others had mentioned simply did utilise low sodium soy sauce. Will exist keeping this one!
09/xxx/2019
Needed ginger
xi/15/2018
Add some ginger paste...and is great using gluten free soy sauce...
08/27/2015
Sauce was actually on indicate, very good, simply Brand Sure y'all reduce the Soy sauce to only a few splashes! I will be making this again on the stove top with craven
01/03/2015
Loved it and then did the whole family unit. I have tried many beef & broccoli recipes, and I have to say that is this is our favorite
09/23/2018
So easy to make and very tasty. My family unit only loved it. I will definitely be making information technology again.
12/02/2015
I followed this recipe exactly except for substituting beef for craven. Information technology was very tasty.
